celebrations of trails and the outdoors.
On June 1, we’re spreading the National Trails Day fun across North Carolina and South Carolina with a variety of FREE guided hikes and bike rides throughout the day in multiple locations. Check back soon as outdoor adventures are added! Advance registration is requested.
Guided Bike Ride: Little Sugar Creek Greenway – NoDa to SC state line
Ride along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, beginning in Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood and continuing south to the South Carolina state line.

Guided Sketching Hike: Oakboro Rail Trail
Unleash your inner artist! Artist Wil Bosbyshell will lead a guided hike and colored pencil sketching class at the Oakboro Rail Trail in Oakboro, NC.

Hike with Trail Master Dave Edwards at the Pharr Family Preserve Trail in Midland, NC, property that is permanently conserved by the Catawba Lands Conservancy.

Join us at the historic Kings Mountain National Military Park, where you’ll learn about a new trail project that will connect the park to Gaffney, SC and beyond.

Enjoy beautiful views of the Catawba River and learn about the proud and significant history and culture of the Catawba Indians who have resided on these ancestral lands for nearly 6,000 years.

Partner-Led Program: Sunset Walk at Lindsay Pettus Greenway
The Lindsay Pettus Greenway will host a 1.5 mile Sunset Walk on Saturday, June 1st at 7 pm, starting at the Nature Pavilion on Colonial Drive. Reservations are not necessary. Dogs are welcome. For more information, please email info@lindsaypettusgreenway.org.
