Paddle from the Spencer Mountain Kayak Launch
Thursday, October 24, 11 am-2 pm
In 2023 the Greenway Gals donated over $13,000 to replace the launch structure at this CLC-owned kayak launch. Come see the results of this effort, and enjoy fall color as we paddle along this beautiful and historic part of the South Fork River. More details to come.
Mushroom Foray – TBD in late fall
Join us at the enchanting Laurel Hill Preserve to forage for fascinating fungi. We will delve into the mysteries of the mushroom, including their identification, cultivation and preservation. Small groups will explore the many microclimates of Laurel Hill and collect an array of colors, textures and sizes.
Hike & Happy Hour in McAdenville
Wednesday, November 13, 4 pm
After hiking the Pharr Yarns Family Trail we’ll meet at the River Room for a happy hour and update on the trails in McAdenville and the surrounding area. More details to come.

Catawba Wildflower Glen Hike
Gals joined Catawba Lands Conservancy staff for a private guided hike at the Catawba Wildflower Glen, the first property protected by the organization. The property is home to many unique plant species.
Spider Lily Paddle
The Greenway Gals held their annual Spider Lily Paddles at Landsford Canal State Park, where they viewed the rare Rocky Shoals Spider Lilies.
Vision Sharing Morning
Gals gathered at the Thread Trail office for a special morning envisioning the future of the Greenway Gals, including how we can grow the group and strengthen its impact on the Carolina Thread Trail together.
Walk at Ballantyne Reimagined
Gals walked a portion of one of the newest designated Thread Trail segments at Ballantyne Reimagined and ended the evening with happy hour at Postino’s. From this location, trail users can now access over 20 miles of trails on the Ballantyne campus from the Lower McAlpine Creek, McMullen Creek and Four Mile Creek Greenways.
