Lake Norman

Lake Norman's surface area, when filled to capacity, is 32,510 acres with a shoreline of 520 miles and a main channel 34 miles in length — thus its nickname, the “Inland Sea.” It is home to Lake Norman State Park, which covers 13 miles of the shoreline and provides boating access. The park also boasts its own 33-acre lake where fishing and boating are enjoyed. And with hiking trails, picnic areas, interpretive programs and campgrounds, there’s more to Lake Norman State Park than merely water.

Lake Norman State Park

Lake Norman State Park is over 1300 acres in size and is located in Troutman, NC. The park has opportunities for boating, camping, rental facilities and education programs. The park also has its own 33-acre internal lake, as well as access to Lake Norman’s 32,000-plus acres of surface water.

This river is known for its whitewater rafting and scenic beauty and has great opportunities for trails and access points.
