​Second Saturday Cleanups
Adopt-A-Stream​​
Volunteer to keep our waterways along or near Thread Trail segments clean every second Saturday! Charlotte-Mecklenburg staff will be at a specific location every second Saturday of the month with supplies and snacks for volunteers. Each event will be held from 9:00am-12:00pm. The location of these events will be on their website as well at the CMSWS social media pages. There is no need to register, although if you have a large group please email Ashley.Smith@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov to ensure there will be enough supplies.​​

FROGS Fall Fun Day
Check out this cool, family-friendly event in Mount Holly’s Tuckaseegee Park from 3 pm-7 pm. There will be food, door prizes, and lots of games and activities hosted by Friends of the Greenways!

October 27 and November 17
Overmountain Victory Trail Community Work Days
Join these trail building work days on October 27th and November 17th from 12 to 5 PM in Gaffney, SC to work on an important segment of the Overmountain Victory Trail a segment of the Carolina Thread Trail. When completed the trail will weave through four states and cover over 300 miles stretching from the mountains of Virginia down to Kings Mountain National Military Park. Kings Mountain Gateway Trail Solar and Star Gazing
Learn about the night sky at this free, family-friendly event hosted by the Cleveland County Astronomical Society on the Kings Mountain Gateway Trail. The event will take place on Saturday, October 28th from 1-5 PM.

Big Spring Clean
Join in this community-wide effort to keep the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area waterways free from trash. Formerly the Big Sweep, this annual event aims to clean out all the trash and waste that flows into our local streams and lakes from storm drains, backyards, and dumps.
