​Second Saturday Cleanups
Adopt-A-Stream​​
Volunteer to keep our waterways along or near Thread Trail segments clean every second Saturday! Charlotte-Mecklenburg staff will be at a specific location every second Saturday of the month with supplies and snacks for volunteers. Each event will be held from 9:00am-12:00pm. The location of these events will be on their website as well at the CMSWS social media pages. There is no need to register, although if you have a large group please email Ashley.Smith@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov to ensure there will be enough supplies.​​

Nation Ford Greenway Volunteer Trail Workday

Volunteer to help maintain the beautiful Springfield Trail of Nation Ford Greenway and the Thread Trail at this volunteer workday from 8:00-10:00 AM hosted by the Anne Springs Close Greenway and the Nation Ford Land Trust. Trim overgrowth and help keep the trail clean, accessible, and beautiful! Meet at the parking lot across from the Nation Ford High School off of the northern end of AO Jones Boulevard. You must be 16 or over to participate.

Baxter Trails CureSearch Ultimate Hike 
Harlan’s Heroes and CureSearch are teaming up with Baxter Trails to tell children’s cancer to take a hike, and you can join us! Grab your friends and family members and register your team for the largest volunteer planned CureSearch Hike in the United States! Each team member raises money for lifesaving children’s cancer research. The hike is hosted on part of the Thread Trail with in the Baxter Village trail system.

Sugar Creek Cleanup

Help remove and inventory tires from Sugar Creek just off of the Nation Ford Greenway at this volunteer workday hosted by the Anne Springs Close Greenway and the Nation Ford Land Trust. The workday will last from 9:00-11:00 AM and volunteers should meet at the Antioch International Church parking lot on Regent Parkway in Fort Mill. Please RSVP to Caitlin Anderson at 803-547-1009 or CaitlinAnderson@ASCGreenway.org or on the Volunteer Portal if you’re an active volunteer at bit.ly/VolPortal. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
